Provo MTC Drop-Off: Arrival Times & What to Expect
Drop-off at the Provo Missionary Training Center is quick and happens at the curb, so plan your goodbyes ahead of time.
Where and when
- Address: 2005 North 900 East, Provo, Utah 84602 (this is different from the MTC mailing address).
- From I-15: exit 269 from the north, exit 263 from the south.
- Arrival time: generally between 1:00 and 2:00 pm local time. Your specific time is posted about a week before on-site arrival on the official arrival information page. Come at your scheduled time.
- If you must fly in earlier, you may arrive the day before. Missionaries coming by airport shuttle should come straight from the flight.
- Running late? Call the MTC Information Desk at 385-384-2900 (24 hours).
The drop-off itself
- Only one vehicle per missionary family can enter the grounds. It should carry the missionary, their luggage and a few members of the immediate family.
- Other family members and friends can’t drive or walk onto the campus, so hold the bigger farewell earlier.
- Keep the goodbye short so everyone arriving can be welcomed.
- Tall vehicles such as RVs can’t enter the drop-off area.

After drop-off
- Packages and letters must come by mail or approved carriers; please don’t bring packages to the MTC (On-Site FAQ).
- A tentative departure date is in the MTC mailing address. Missionaries learn their travel plans on or before their last P-day and are encouraged to share them with family.
- Church leaders ask that missionaries not have visitors at the airport or MTC when they leave for their missions.
