Missionary travel portal: where to find it and log in

Have your call? Sign in at travelportal.churchofjesuschrist.org with your Church Account. It opens to a sign-in screen, so you won’t see anything until you log in. Missionary Travel is also inside the official Missionary Portal. Here’s what the Church’s MTC pages say about it.

This page is for MTC travel: your itinerary, flights and who to contact. Sign-in help and what’s inside the portal are in the Missionary Portal guide.

Quick answer

The missionary travel portal is the Missionary Travel section of the official Missionary Portal, where missionaries, with family alongside, handle MTC travel and flights after the call. Start at the Missionary Portal and sign in with the missionary’s Church Account, or go straight to travelportal.churchofjesuschrist.org.

How to reach it

3 quick steps. Tap Next.

Go to travelportal.churchofjesuschrist.org. It’s a Church sign-in page. Only use this official address.

Sign in with the missionary’s Church Account. Use the login from the email and text you got with your call. It’s the same account as the Missionary Portal.

Open the Missionary Travel section. If you want the Church to arrange travel to the MTC, request it here. Otherwise, Missionary Travel assumes you’re making your own arrangements.

More

Direct link not opening? Go the long way: open the official Missionary Portal page, sign in with the same Church Account and find Missionary Travel there.

Who it’s for

Missionaries whose call has been issued. After your call is issued, the Church sends you an email and a text message with your missionary login information. That’s what opens the travel portal and the rest of the Missionary Portal. Just got your call? Start with the first week after your mission call and what’s in your call packet.

No call yet? There’s nothing in the travel portal for you yet. The public Missionary Portal page is open to everyone and is the place to start.

Parents and family: the missionary signs in with their own Church Account. Sitting next to them while they look is the easy way to help.

LDS travel portal, Missionary Portal: same place

People search for it a lot of ways: “missionary travel portal,” “LDS travel portal,” “travel portal LDS” or just “missionary portal.” They all point to the same official tool from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Missionary Travel is a section inside the Missionary Portal. It isn’t a separate site you need to hunt for.

  • Not sure where to start? The Church’s public Missionary Portal explainer page says what the Portal is and has the sign-in button. Anyone can read it.
  • Have your call? Sign in with your Church Account. After your call is sent, you get an email and a text with your missionary login information.
  • Ready to see travel? The travel portal sign-in page (login needed, for missionaries who have their call) opens Missionary Travel directly.
  • Only sign in on a churchofjesuschrist.org address. If a page asks for your Church Account password and the address bar says something else, close it.

Dad tip: when the travel email shows up, take a screenshot of it. Airports and dead phone batteries don’t mix.

If it won’t load

  • Sign in again. Sign out of your Church Account, close the tab, then open the link again and sign in.
  • Use the account from your call. Use the login information from the email and text you got when your call was issued.
  • Leave the in-app browser. If you tapped the link inside Facebook, Messenger or an email app, open it in Safari, Chrome or another regular browser.
  • Try a private window or another browser. Old saved sign-ins can get in the way. A computer sometimes works when a phone won’t.
  • Try the other route. If the direct link doesn’t open, go through the public Missionary Portal page and find Missionary Travel there.
  • Give it a little time. Church sites sometimes have maintenance. Try again later the same day.

  • ¿No carga? Cierre sesión, vuelva a entrar y abra el enlace en Safari o Chrome, no dentro de otra aplicación. Church Travel (Estados Unidos): 1-800-537-3537.

When do I get my MTC mailing address?

For the Provo MTC, it’s emailed to your missionary on the Thursday before entering the MTC, to their Church email in the Missionary Portal.

What if the travel portal won’t load?

Sign out of your Church Account and back in, use the login from your call email and text, and open the link in Safari or Chrome instead of an app’s built-in browser. You can also go through the public Missionary Portal page. Church Travel is at 1-800-537-3537.

Is there a separate missionary travel portal?

Missionary Travel is part of the official Missionary Portal. Missionaries who have their call can open it from the portal or sign in directly at travelportal.churchofjesuschrist.org with the same Church Account. Unless you request travel there, Missionary Travel assumes you are making your own arrangements to get to the Provo MTC.

When will I get my travel itinerary to the MTC?

If you requested travel through the Missionary Portal, Missionary Travel emails your travel details to your missionary.org address about two weeks before you leave for the MTC.

Who do I contact about my itinerary or luggage?

What if I have no itinerary two weeks before I travel?

If you have not received your itinerary about two weeks before your travel date, or have another urgent issue, contact your stake president, who can speak with Missionary Travel directly.

You receive your itinerary for travel to your mission and related instructions on or before your last preparation day at the MTC.

Can I arrive at the Provo MTC the day before?

From outside the United States, plan to arrive the day before your on-site date. From the U.S. or Canada, plan to arrive on your start date, though if you must fly in earlier to make your arrival time, you may arrive the day before.

What are the luggage limits for the MTC?

Plan on two standard suitcases, each up to 62 inches and 50 pounds. Carry-ons vary by airline but usually must be under 45 inches and up to 35 pounds, and you pay the airline’s bag fees.

What is the LDS missionary travel portal?

It’s the Missionary Travel section of the official Missionary Portal from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Missionaries who have their call use it to request travel and see travel details. Some people call it the LDS travel portal or just the missionary portal.

Can parents log in to the missionary travel portal?

The missionary signs in with their own Church Account and the missionary login information sent after the call. Parents can sit with them while they look. Never share passwords in a text or email.

Is the Missionary Portal available in Spanish, French or Portuguese?

Yes. The official Missionary Portal page is in Spanish (Portal Misional), French (portail des missionnaires) and Portuguese (Portal do Missionário). You sign in with the same Church Account. See the Spanish and French notes on this page.
