What’s in your call packet?
Your call packet comes with your call. Here’s what it covers, so you know where to look.
The call itself
- Every missionary is called by the Prophet and assigned to a mission by a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles (Church Newsroom).
- Your letter says your mission and where and when to report. See our call letter sample.
What the packet covers
- Detailed preparation instructions
- The mission clothing list
- Your required immunizations
- Travel steps, including booking your flight
- Instructions if you need to buy a phone
All of this is also in the Missionary Portal.

Good to know
- You don’t need to bring the call to the MTC unless your mission president asks.
- You don’t need a suit if your mission doesn’t require one.
