How families stay in touch
Yes, you’ll hear from your missionary every week. Here’s how it works.
Every week
Missionaries may talk with family on their weekly preparation day (P-day) by letter, email, text, online messaging, phone call or video chat (Missionary Standards, ch. 3).
How it works
- The missionary starts texts, messages, calls and video chats.
- Families and missionaries pick the method that works best and costs little.
- Missionaries reply on P-day unless it’s an emergency.
Emergencies
If your family needs to reach your missionary, contact the mission president first (Missionary Standards, ch. 3). Each mission page has the office contact when we could confirm it.
Friends
Friends and others write by email or letter. Phone or video with them needs the mission president’s okay.
