Where it is

The MTC is in a residential neighborhood of La Molina, about one mile (roughly 1.6 km) from the Lima Peru Temple. The Church’s area administration offices are in the building right next door (official page). In Spanish it’s the CCM, short for Centro de Capacitación Misional (página oficial).

We couldn’t find an official arrival page, airport guide or drop-off map for this MTC. Travel to the MTC is booked through the Church’s missionary travel process, so watch for the itinerary and see our travel portal guide.

Who trains here

Church Newsroom lists the Lima MTC as serving Central and South America, with training in Spanish (Church Newsroom). The official page adds that when the La Molina building opened in 1998, North American missionaries learning Spanish began coming here too (official page). Newsroom’s MTC list is an older page that still says 10 locations, so treat it as a general guide.

Your call letter is the only thing that tells you where you report. Some missionaries headed to Peru train in Provo, Mexico City or at home instead. See all MTC locations and all missions in Peru.

How long missionaries stay

Church Newsroom says missionaries spend three to nine weeks at an MTC, and up to three weeks if they aren’t learning a new language (Church Newsroom). We found no official length posted for Lima on its own, so go by the dates in your call packet. Many missionaries start with a short online class at home first: at-home MTC.

A short history

  • 1986: the Peru MTC was established (official page).
  • August 1998: it moved into a newly dedicated building in La Molina (official page). Church Newsroom notes that the training center in Lima was dedicated in August 1998 by Russell M. Nelson, then an Apostle and later President of the Church (Church Newsroom).
  • Today: the official page says it can train up to 150 missionaries at a time (official page). For comparison, the Mexico City MTC can take up to 1,500, so Lima is one of the smaller, more personal centers.

What’s on the campus

According to the official page, missionaries live and study in one compact facility with residence rooms, classrooms, a kitchen, a cafeteria, laundry rooms and a small store. For exercise there are two outdoor soccer fields, outdoor stationary equipment, outdoor courts for basketball, pickleball and volleyball, and a walking track around the exercise area (official page). Expect your missionary to do their own laundry, like at every MTC.

Arrival, visits and goodbyes

The Church hasn’t posted a public visitor, tour or drop-off page for the Lima MTC. The official page gives only the address, office hours and contact details. Follow the instructions in your call packet and anything the MTC sends your missionary, and don’t assume Provo’s curbside drop-off rules apply here. Letters, packages and Christmas

We didn’t find an official mailing format for letters or packages to missionaries at the Lima MTC. Ask your missionary for the exact name and format, and use email first. If your missionary is in Lima during December, mail can be slow, so check the Christmas mailing deadlines early. Light the World ideas you can do at home and share by email are in our Light the World 2026 guide.
